Drinking Water Sampling Course
(DWRC)

The learning goals of the proposed course would ensure that the learner understands concepts related to drinking water quality parameters specified in the Ontario drinking water regulations, such as O. Reg. 170/03; that they apply the Kitchener Utility’s procedures associated with water quality sampling; and that they undertake the appropriate response and corrective actions based upon the sampling results.

This course would address three (3) areas of knowledge or skill development:

1.      Value the importance of protecting public health and welfare associated with the provision of drinking water,

2.      Apply the chlorine residual procedure to sample drinking water in a consistent manner,

3.      Implement the procedure to respond to adverse drinking water quality results.
